Relief
For my relief, I made a tile and something made of cardboard. The tile had to be human nature, I wasn't sure what to do so, i made a little mushroom. Just a little simple piece,
The cardboard was ,my favorite. I made a minecraft sward. I though it was very creative and it could be a little gift for my little sister.
The sward was definitely more difficult than the tile. I ran into many problems with the sward such as the colors. Because it was cardboard, I couldn't use the right colors that the actual sward really is. I just put colors that were the closest. Another problem i ran into was making the sward stay straight up. I took a couple of Popsicle sticks and hot glued them onto the back to make it stay straight.
Styrogami
At first, i had no idea what i was doing, i wanted to cut long pieces out and make them stick out but it looked like a big mess. The second one, i wanted to make kind of a slinky figure and it worked. The third one was probably my favorite. I tried cutting triangles and make them stick out, but the cup broke in two. I flipped it over and but it on top, and it looked really cool. MY last one, i tried too make it into a castle, as you can see with the draw bridge. The main trouble i had with this one was trying to cut it straight and evenly. Also trying to figure out what to do. If i were to do this again, I would try and make the cup a completely different shape and figure.
Inspired Artist
I chose Hella Jongerious. On the webstide provided on weebly, i loved the plates with the animals inside. I love simple petite things like that. Hella is 51 years old. Jongerius was born in De Meern, near Utrecht, Netherlands in 1963. From 1988 to 1993 she studied design at the Design Academy Eindhoven. After graduating, she worked for a few projects at Droog Design. She founded her own studio called Jongeriuslab inRotterdam in 1993.
